An Indian-qualified lawyer with a Masters degree in Commercial Laws from Melbourne, Jyoti has experience in Indian and international transactions. She is a versatile legal professional with a combined experience of working in Indian law firm, corporate in-house profile, international law firm and legal outsourcing industry.
With a background in commerce and law, Jyoti has worked in many corporate and financing transactions with different organizations. Jyoti has been involved with various kinds of projects and areas of law including general corporate and commercial work; industry specific work(aviation, media, banking & finance); investments in sports teams, movies and aircrafts; mortgage finance; asset finance; simple and complex loan transactions etc. She has worked for the India office of one of the leading international law firms in the world, Clifford Chance LLP, mainly in the area of banking and finance related to loan agreements, legal due diligence, company review, debt trading documentation (par and distressed) etc. She has also worked in the Banking and Finance departments of Clifford Chance London and New York offices as part of official secondments. She has worked with the corporate finance department of Sahara Group, which is considered to be one of the largest conglomerates in India, managing various acquisitions and asset management projects for the group. She has also worked in Sahara Media working on projects like coproduction or investment in movies. She was also involved in assisting the top management in dealing with legal issues in their news channel and print media, for example – advising on sports broadcasting, distribution agreements etc. Over the years, Jyoti has gained experience on various aspects of transaction management. Her work experience includes project management, contract drafting and review, negotiations, contract management and administration, legal due diligence, document review, legal research and writing etc. Her experience also includes international transactions compliant with Indian foreign exchange rules and guidelines.
